Animated video overlays for short-form content, made right on your iPhone. Build a news alert, a lower third, or a leaderboard, save it to your Camera Roll, then drop it on your footage.

How it works
1. Build your overlay
Pick a type, type your text, pick a color theme, and choose a sound.
2. Save to Camera Roll
The app exports your overlay on a solid green background. That's deliberate. Instagram, TikTok, and CapCut all have a Green Screen tool but ignore transparency. A transparent video would land as a black box.
3. Import into your editor
Open your footage in whatever app you already use and add the overlay video as a new layer.
4. Key out the green
Use the Green Screen / Chroma Key tool in your editor to remove the green background. One tap and your overlay appears on top of your video. The app ships an illustrated guide with the exact steps for Instagram Edits and TikTok.
Free, with one optional upgrade
Exporting is unlimited and free. Free exports carry a small “Made with Magic Overlay Maker” tab at the bottom of the overlay.
There is one optional purchase. It's a single lifetime unlock, not a subscription. It removes the tab from every export, unlocks four more color themes and custom palettes, and unlocks seven more sounds.

I'm Mark Brenneman, a solo developer. I built Magic Overlay Maker because the tools I needed for short-form video didn't exist in a simple, focused form. It's iOS-only for now. No Android date to promise, just what I can build and maintain by myself.
